Founded in 2000, the Boys & Girls Club of Lake County (BGCLC) exists to inspire all young people – especially those who need us most – to fulfill their potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. For more than two decades, BGCLC has provided safe, supportive spaces where youth can learn, grow, and thrive. Today, more than 1,300 youth are registered with BGCLC across 11 Club sites and growing, serving communities in Waukegan, North Chicago, Great Lakes, and Gurnee.
Our Clubs respond to local needs while delivering consistent, high-quality programming that supports the whole child. Each year, BGCLC serves more than 138,000 healthy, hot meals and provides over 379,500 hours of mentoring – building skills, confidence, and strong relationships. With 100% of participating youth engaged in daily physical activity, we are fostering healthy habits that last a lifetime. Together, these outcomes reflect our commitment to helping young people thrive and discover their potential – today and in the future.
