We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate behavior of any kind, including child sexual abuse or misconduct. This commitment is reinforced through comprehensive policies, ongoing training, and the resources necessary to uphold the highest standards of safety.

A Culture of Safety.
The Boys & Girls Club of Lake County continuously reviews and strengthens its safety policies, programs, and training for all staff and volunteers. These measures are designed to protect young people and address the real-world risks present in today’s society.
Our layered approach to safety includes:
- Mandatory background checks for all employees and volunteers
- Immediate reporting of all incidents to the appropriate authorities; all Club staff are trained mandated reporters
- Ongoing staff training focused on creating a safe environment for every child
- A Board-led Safety Committee that elevates safety oversight to the highest level
- Regular Club Safety Assessments to ensure standards are consistently met
